Hydroponics
Hydroponics is growing plants without soil and goes back, at least, to the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Your hydroponic garden doesn’t have to be as elaborate as the one in Babylon, but you can still produce tasty vegetables, fruits and herbs. You can also grow them inside an apartment year-round because you don’t even need natural sunlight.
Studies have shown that hydroponically-grown food can be as much as 50% higher in nutrients and vitamins than field-grown food. It’s easiest if you use a kit to get started. It can cost $100 and up, but of course it’s reusable again and again. Homegrown Hydroponics www.hydroponics.com/howtoinfo Very comprehensive site on all aspects of hydroponics.
